Why Falkayn?
Why is this website named Falkayn.com? It's a good question, after all, my game world is called "Aeden" and my name has nothing to do with Falkayn. In fact Falkayn seems to be very much a made-up name.
There are a couple of reasons as to why I chose "Falkayn":
1. I love the character David Falkayn from Poul Anderson's Future History of the Polesotechnic League series. More specifically the 1966 novel "Trouble Twisters" from that series.
2. One of my first really memorable D&D characters was called Nicholas Falkayn, after the fictional son of David Falkayn (see the 1977 novel "Mirkheim" - the boy was named after Nicholas Van Rijn). In case you're interested, he was my first Forgotten Realms character and was played in a campaign set in Daggerford, near Waterdeep.
3. Because it was my favourite name that was still available as a domain name.
