Odd Jobs
These are some "odd jobs", mini-adventures and patron encounters that you're free to use in your own Traveller games.
Adventure Seeds For The Julian Protectorate
The following adventure seeds are grouped according by type of player character group, and are all set around the Kupid subsector, within the Mendan sector.
Farguard Intelligence
The characters are part of an undercover team of Farguard intelligence operatives. Characters are probably not all ex-Farguard scouts, but will be likely to have spent some time in the Star Legion armed forces.
Adventure Seeds
1. Investigating the Commonwealth of Mendan's efforts to increase Human/Vargr unity, focusing on the possible re-introduction of the Amber rating for Summit.
2. Investigating events on Uuram to see if they are related to those on Kferrun, in order to help identify who might have caused the crisis, and bring back samples of the virus.
3. Contacting ex-corsairs on Shurkar in order to improve anti-corsair intelligence.
Star Legion Black Ops
The characters form a black ops team, with significant military and stealth experience.
Adventure Seeds
1. Raiding suspected Gashikan spy cells or taking out rebel military bases on Kakigun.
2. Freeing Kigabala from the corsairs entrenched there.
Julian Protectorate Diplomats
The characters are diplomats, or members of their entourage. If one or more players are up to it, you can make them the diplomats, otherwise they might just do the dirty work for one. Note that the Protectorate has a history of making ex-merchants into diplomats, rather than nobles.
Adventure Seeds
1. Meeting national leaders on Ugirunnir in an effort to gets some agreement about bringing
them into the Julian Protectorate as an unincorporated system.
2. Negotiating with the corsairs on Kigabala to secure the safe release of the colonists.
Hunting Party
The characters are members of a hunting party, either hunters themselves or the associated crew of a safari starship.
Adventure Seeds
1. Hunting giant cold beasts on Ugirunnir.
2. Hunting temperate land-dwellers on Umasur.
3. Hunting aquatic beasties on Kupid.
Free Traders
The characters are free traders, preferably with their own ship, they are motivated by potential profits.
Adventure Seeds
1. Opening trade routes to Ugirunnir, despite the corsairs who frequent the system.
2. Making money in the Kupid Cluster on Jump-1 runs.
3. Running guns into Kakigun.
4. Running guns into Summit.
5. Running supplies to the heretechs on Shurkar.
Mercenaries
The characters are part of a mercenary company, either with their own ship(s), or a ground team able to handle themselves without spaceship support.
Adventure Seeds
1. Wipe out the corsair presence on Kigabala.
2. Deter corsair's from harassing Protectorate shipping to Ugirunnir, Shurkar or Irisi.
3. Protect the Irisi colony from corsair raids.
4. Escort a diplomatic envoy to Ugirunnir.
Scientists/Academics
The characters are scientists or academics, interested in discovering new things (and perhaps fame and fortune for doing it).
Adventure Seeds
1. Investigate events on Kferrun in order to determine whether Wolvesbane is the culprit,
and if so, was it a new batch or one dug up from ancient Gashikan stores?
2. An Ancients site has been uncovered in the Giinurmuu system, and Menderes Corporation wants it quietly investigated.
3. There is a nasty environmental mess on Umasur, and the Commonwealth of Mendan would like it solved.
