| Description: |
The Hairy Friend class Yachts were commissioned by the Lorean Hegemony for use by trade delegations expected to spend most of their time outside of the Julian Protectorate. To this end, the design brief called for high agility and/or armour, and enough hidden weapon systems to enable the ship to defend itself. The ship also has just over 100 tons of cargo space, enough to transport sample Lorean Hegemony trade goods and bring back gifts and interesting trade goods.
The majority of the ship is built at TL-13, but the Fusion Power Plant is TL-15 and the Fusion Gun is a TL-14 model. As a yacht the ship is designed to appear luxurious inside, with copious amounts of room for passngers.
In terms of quarters the captain/pilot and the steward/medic each get a stateroom, with the rest of the crew getting a small cabin and a fresher each (two freshers are in common areas, one for crew duty use, the other in the passenger common area). There are six passenger staterooms, one of which has extra office space (one of the extra small cabins). The other small cabin is included as a small shipboard conference room for use during trade negotiations.
This particular ship belongs to Sieur Ongka Gverthan, a Vargr ex-trader turned diplomat who is on an extended trade delegation mission to the 3I. The ship's captain is Senior Fooz Murphy (retired) an ex-Star Legion Marine turned pilot, who shares his stateroom with his wife Margarite, the ship's steward. The extra stateroom is used for storage of their personal items.

The combat stats shown do not take into account average crew skills, or the typical software package carried by a Measurement Mental-State Close Escort. The triple pulse laser turrets can fire twice a round, and all weapon systems get +2 To Hit due to software and +11 To Hit due to Gunners' skills, as well as the ability to make called shots on specific areas of target ships (Heavy Metal feat).
